Corporate Espionage | Industrial Espionage

The competition never sleeps and, in its aim of catching up with the competitive advantages of rivals as quickly as possible, can sometimes be unscrupulous. It may happen that the electrician who installs your new office collects payment twice: once from you and once from a competitor who thereby secures a direct line into your work premises. Cleaning staff, suppliers, and fraudulent employees may also have access to your premises and the theoretical possibility of installing surveillance technology in your company.

Incidentally, the terms economic espionage and industrial espionage are often confused in reporting, although by definition they must be clearly distinguished. Industrial or competitor espionage refers to the attempt by a competing company to obtain information illegally. The attack therefore originates from the private sector. Economic espionage, on the other hand, is always state-directed and is generally carried out by intelligence services in order to compensate for technological advantages of other countries.
