The eavesdropping-proof room is an ideal state that can never be fully achieved in practice. Nevertheless, through so-called passive eavesdropping security measures it is possible to achieve a very close approximation to this ideal state, that is, to the completely eavesdropping-proof room. For the – as stated – theoretical eavesdropping-proof room, very special structural conditions must be present. As this is in practice not feasible for most companies and for private individuals, professional eavesdropping security must be implemented through a regular plan of measures. A one-time measure is usually not sufficient in this context.
The creation of a room that is as eavesdropping-proof as possible forms part of passive eavesdropping security. This includes the prevention of distortion and diversion of electromagnetic waves, the protection of communication lines, and the encryption of outgoing data.
